Vocational
Training
The number of students at vocational
training and technical education centers has recorded a sixteen-fold increase during
a fifteen-year period. Trainees increased from 578 in 1970 - 1971 (1390 - 1391 H) to some
10,000 in 1995 - 1996 (1415 - 1416 H). Training centers run by the General Organization
for Vocational Training and Technical Education increased from five to thirty during the
above period.
Special Education
The Saudi Government accords great attention to special
education and the rehabilitation of the handicapped, having set up 57 institutes which
enroll 6,258 male and female students.
